Consumer Currents - Issue 10
By KPMG, LLP | April 13, 2011
From the Global Enterprise Institute
Private labels or store brands that have historically been inexpensive and generic alternatives to better known brands have been transformed over the past couple of years.
Cash-strapped consumers have been looking for lower-priced alternatives in many segments and have increasingly been persuaded to switch from tried and tested household favorites. This issue examines this and other branding challenges the food, drink, and consumer goods industry is facing in today's economy.
The issue also discusses how trends such as water scarcity, emerging markets, and global talent shortages are impacting consumer markets companies.
