CFO Financial Forum Webcast: Goodwill Impairment
| June 02, 2011 | 2:00pm ET
From the Financial Reporting Network and the IFRS Institute
This webcast will feature Paul Munter, a partner in KPMG’s Department of Professional Practice.
The presentation will discuss the FASB’s recently-issued exposure draft of a proposed Accounting Standards Update (ASU), Testing Goodwill for Impairment. The update would permit an entity to make a qualitative assessment of whether it is more likely than not that its reporting unit’s fair value is less than its carrying amount before applying the two-step goodwill impairment test.
The webcast also will cover the FASB’s recently-issued guidance in ASU No. 2010-28, When to Perform Step 2 of the Goodwill Impairment Test for Reporting Units With Zero or Negative Carrying Amounts.
